Visit the Museum
Malton Museum is located in the heart of Malton town centre. It is sited in the old town hall in the busy market place and is also home to Malton Tourist Information Centre. This section of the website will hopefully tell you all you need to know to plan your visit, but if not then please contact us and we'll be pleased to help.
Opening Times
Opening times vary depending on the time of year:
- From mid March to the end of October the museum is open from Monday to Saturday between 10:00am and 4:00pm.
- From November to mid March the museum is open from Monday to Saturday between 10:30am and 3:00pm
- The museum is closed on Sundays and from Christmas Eve to 2nd January.

Group Bookings
Daytime and evening visits can be arranged for larger groups. Please contact us for details and prices. If you are thinking of bringing a group from a school, be sure to check the education area for details of the activities we can offer.
Other Information
Before or after you visit the museum, be sure to also check out the remains of the Roman fort at Orchard Fields just a short walk from the museum on the way towards Old Malton.
Also, do remember that there are numerous cafes and restaurants situated in Malton town centre just moments from the museum where you can relax after your visit.
Please note that there are no toilet facilities at the museum but that there are public conveniences just 100 yards around the corner.
