What to see and do – Malton Goes to Market Exhibition
A visit to Malton Museum helps visitors to understand how the past has shaped the two towns we see today.
The current exhibition, Malton Goes to Market, provides information on the towns’ Prehistoric, Roman, Medieval and more recent past through text panels and changing displays showing a variety of objects.
The exhibition contains ‘hands on’ activities for younger, and older, visitors. These include a quern stone with which to have a go at grounding your own flour, a variety of weaving activities, period costumes for dressing up in, and two trails for children in which Fido, the museum’s dog, guides them around the displays. Check our ‘What’s On’ pages for a variety of additional events, including those specifically targeted to adults and families.
Two different town trails are available to purchase, a leaflet format aimed at adults and backpacks which contain a trail and activities for families to enjoy.
And finally, before you leave (and have visited our small retail shop), please make an entry into the comments book so we know your thoughts about the museum.
