Walking tour: Cawthorn Camps
Saturday 21st August at 11.00am
This self-drive tour involves joining guided walking visits to Roman sites north of Malton.
It will start at Cawthorn and then move on to Beadlam.
Cawthorn (1 hour): A one-mile flat walk around Cawthorn will take us past the remains of two Roman forts and a Roman Camp. The stunning defensive earthworks are a remarkable survival from the early years of the Roman invasion of the north.
If you would like to book both walking tours there is a discount available when booking our second tour – details are available with your booking confirmation email, once you have booked your first walking tour.
We are also offering a student discount of 50% on this walking tour – details on our booking page: Cawthorn Camps
Cawthorn: Meet at: Cawthorn Roman Camps car park (5 miles north of Pickering). OS Grid Ref: SE 783 894

Extras No toilets or refreshments are available at Cawthorn but there is a public house that serves food and drinks at the neighbouring village of Cropton
