Friends of the Museum

The Friends of Malton Museum

The Friends of Malton Museum are keen supporters of the museum, and many of the members are active volunteers. Formed in the 1970s, the Friends support the museum in a number of ways – in particular, they raise vital funds for special purchases or other specific purposes such as the staging of new exhibitions.

The Friends group runs an interesting series of evening lectures, held on the third Wednesday of the month from September to April; these take place in the library at Malton School on Middlecave Road.  Entry to the lectures is free for members; for non-members a fee of £4 is payable on the door.

The Friends Annual General Meeting and social evening in May always provides a good opportunity to socialise.
