Having worked on excavations in Tunisia, Algeria and Beirut, he has more recently concentrated on the investigation of Iron Age and Roman settlements on the Yorkshire Wolds. As part of longer term collaboration with Malton Museum, he will describe what we have learnt of soldier/civilian interaction as a result of five years of extensive excavation outside the northeast gate of Malton’s Roman fort.
