Join the Malton Museum’s tour team and academic historians for a special two-part 90-minute tour. Please register at Malton Museum at 9.45 to then start the tour at 10am with some historical background.
First, we shall explore the early origins of New Malton as a walled town, moving on to Old Malton to discover the hidden history of the Gilbertine Priory and St Mary’s Church. The tour ends at St Mary’s Church.
We recommend that tour followers park in the Malton town centre car parks of Wentworth Street or Water Lane for the first part of the tour, and move on to park on street or St Mary’s Church car parking area in Old Malton for the second stage of the tour.
