Summer Lectures: Roman Malton in Twenty Objects Dr Peter Addyman

Peter Addyman is Chairman of Malton Museum Foundation.  Formerly Director of York Archaeological Trust, he was responsible for archaeological excavation in York between 1972 and 2002 and developed the Jorvik Viking Centre. A past president of the Council for British Archaeology and of the Yorkshire Archaeological and Historical Society, he has represented the latter on Malton Museum Foundation for many years. His talk uses objects from the Museum’s remarkable collections to tell the story of Roman Malton’s origins, life and eventual end.

The lectures at Malton Museum will be held in the Assembly Rooms, which are situated up a flight of stairs. Unfortunately, due to the age of the building, there is currently no lift access available.
