Greetings (avete in Latin) hungry mouths! Can you find the big wheels of cheese in this shop?

Cheese was the perfect food for Roman soldiers on a long campaign. Cheese contained energy plus fats that helped keep soldiers disease-free.

Just like modern cheese makers, Romans used a press to drain the liquid ‘whey’ from the cheese, making it hard, easily portable and keeping it fresher for longer.
