The Malton Time Traveller Campaign

The Malton Time Traveller Campaign

2,000 years ago there was a Roman fort in Malton called Delgovicia and a busy civilian town. This was a good spot for a fort because it was near to the Eboracum (York) fort and it helped the Romans keep an eye on the troublesome Brigantes Tribes to the east.

Across October and November, we’ve partnered with local shops creating a free, fun, family trail to get you exploring Malton and learning about Roman life. Will your little Romans be the first to find all the knitted figures hidden in local shops?

Click here to open the Campaign Map and find the high ranking commanders’ wives inside the stores around Malton to learn more about the Romans’ secrets to success.

If you complete the Campaign route, return to the front desk in the museum during normal opening hours (Thurs – Fri – Sat, 10:30 – 15:30) for a special certificate for your young ‘tirones’ (Latin for recruit). If you are unable to visit the museum to get the certificate, you can find the certificate here to download.
