We offer three sessions to after school clubs at both KS2 and KS3.
Hands on History
An opportunity to look at and handle objects from the collections which are normally unseen. Objects will vary according to the needs and age of the group being addressed. They will look at objects from different periods of history relating to Malton and Norton.
Drama Workshops
These sessions use genuine artefacts to stimulate a variety of mime based interactive techniques to enable students to get into character and create their own stories. We use mostly Roman artefacts but are able to bring objects from different time periods if required.
Be a History Detective
We can offer a 5 week After School Club to run from 3.30pm – 4.30pm (or to fit your end of school times).
Our team of History Detectives will look at real and replica artefacts for clues and evidence to solve mysteries about the past. Each week we will investigate objects to discover their hidden secrets. The history detectives will work together to find the answers to these questions and more –
- Who left a footprint in the Roman tile?
- Who was Lucius Severnius Super?
- What happened to the buried objects?
- How big was that pot?
- Whose rubbish is it anyway?
Do get in touch and invite us to visit your school. Join our team of detectives to learn how to find out more about our past.
This after school club has been accredited by The Children’s University and can add to learning hours. All tutors involved have full DBS checks in place.
